My Frequently Asked Questions

I'm here to help every step of the way as you both take that exciting journey down the aisle!

Since I'm always getting to ask my couples all the questions from the time we meet right up to and including if "they do" I thought it would be helpful to answer some of the most common questions I get.

Make sure that you also take a look at my blog where I give hints and tips to help with your ceremony creation and planning for your special day.

Also you can always hit me up if you think there's a really pressing unanswered FAQ on your mind - I'm always happy to oblige!

We just got engaged, now what?

Congratulations!

The best start is to go on a wedding planning date together, somewhere you both feel relaxed and enjoy, to have a huge chat!

Talk about both of your visions of your special day, what are your must haves, what vibe, what look and how much!

When you've got a clear idea, set a date! Then use all that info to start looking at venues and celebrants, then other key suppliers!

You can find some of my faves right here x

How do we
book you?

Stoked you like my vibe!

First get in touch to confirm my availability and set a time we can all chat either face to face or on Zoom.

I feel it's really important for us all to be on the same page about your ceremony and make sure it's a right fit before I quote and book in.

After that you just need to pay my non-refundable deposit fee and complete my booking form.

You can find out all about my processes at my guide

How To Get Hitched!

Can anyone get
married?

Legally there are a few circumstances under which you can not get married.

If you are under 18 (although with court consent one of you may be 16)

If you are already married, including an overseas marriage.

If you are in a prohibited relationship.

If one of you does not give consent.

But for the good news...

you do not have to be an Australian Citizen to be married in Australia

and

in 2017 Australia ratified Marriage Equality, so same sex couples have the same rights as everyone - woohoo!

Why don't you list your prices?

Great question!

Every ceremony I create is personalised for the couple so until we chat about your vision and the fine details it's hard to put an exact price on what the ceremony will cost.

If you want an exact figure then hit me up for a chat!

Can we get married next week?

Unfortunately, no!

Unlike in Hollywood movies where you can get hitched in  a hot minute, in Australia it takes a little longer.

Legally you require 1 month between lodging your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) with an authorised celebrant and the ceremony date.

Also remember this is the legal minimum - you might want to allow a little extra time for creative suppliers and content creation x

Can you help us write wedding vows?

Yep I sure can!

I also provide examples and a guide to help you write them, plus you can always read my blog for inspiration.

If you're happy to write your vows?

Then I'm happy to be here just to edit and make sure your lovebirds match in vibe!

If you know your heart but are struggling to string the words into something you like?

Then I'm happy to take your thoughts and put them into prose - I'm even happy to sit with you and write whilst you brainstorm!

That's what I'm here for x

What do we legally need to get married?

Well on the day at the least the two of you, a celebrant and two wtinesses over the age of 18!

You also need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) which I will help you complete and this must be signed at least 1 month before the wedding.  At the time of signing I will also need to sight 2 pieces of ID - at least one being a photo ID.

There are legal words that need to be spoken during the ceremony by you and the celebrant, and three more forms to sign - but I'll handle all the paperwork for you so all you have to do is proof read everything!

Which also means that the rest of the ceremony is yours to play with!

Will you match
our style?

Yes definitely!

Just like your ceremony is personalised to suit your vibe, I get that your wedding will be your look and style.

So I will do my best to dress to match your style and colour palette.

I won't look like your wedding posse...but I will look like I "belong" to you!

And if you're thinking of a theme wedding, then I more than happy to comply and fit in with your theme...costumes are my thing!

"You helped us so much with planning too and coming up with ways to tie in all the things I wanted to do but couldn't work out how!

You are just incredible!"
