Here are some hints & tips to help the ceremony go smoothly so that everyone can sit back & be as chill as this gorgeous flower girl, Ruby!
š¾ make sure your venue is pet friendly. Most places on the South Coast are OK with dog but it's always good to check as your ceremony spot may have restrictions!
š¾ choose a role that shows off your dog's superpowers! If they're a master sitter then have them up front for duration, but if they are are better at recall - let them just race up the aisle as ring bearer (don't actually let them have the rings we'll just make it look like they do!).
š¾ let your dog have an entrance - if you have a confident dog who loves attention, why not have someone walk them up the aisle to their own song?
š¾ if you have a socially anxious dog who wouldn't be comfortable in the ceremony, then there are other ways to include them. Have a photo (or even a cut-out) of them on display, include them in your cake-topper design, or have some one on one time with them & include them in your photos instead.
š¾ at the ceremony - well you have a posse, so why not one for your dog? Give them a dedicated attendant for the day to make sure their needs are covered too!
š¾ for this try & find someone good with dogs who isn't already playing a major role in the wedding so can give them lots of attention. It's a really good idea to consider hiring a professional like Guest of Honour Chaperones or Wedding Paws who are used to the demands of fur babies at ceremonies!
š¾ make sure everyone's feeling comfortable on the day so let your suppliers know that your fur baby will be around. As your celebrant, I can also give the guests a heads up, so if anyone is a bit nervy they can be aware.
š¾ last but not least, just go with the flow! Be prepared that the unexpected will most likely happen & these are the moments that will make you giggle & etch the day in everyone's hearts xx
