..so why not include your four legged bestie on the day you marry your human one?
Here are some hints & tips to help the ceremony go smoothly so that everyone can sit back & be as chill as this gorgeous flower girl, Ruby!
đž make sure your venue is pet friendly. Most places on the South Coast are OK with dog but it's always good to check as your ceremony spot may have restrictions!
đž choose a role that shows off your dog's superpowers! If they're a master sitter then have them up front for duration, but if they are are better at recall - let them just race up the aisle as ring bearer (don't actually let them have the rings we'll just make it look like they do!).
đž let your dog have an entrance - if you have a confident dog who loves attention, why not have someone walk them up the aisle to their own song?
đž if you have a socially anxious dog who wouldn't be comfortable in the ceremony, then there are other ways to include them. Have a photo (or even a cut-out) of them on display, include them in your cake-topper design, or have some one on one time with them & include them in your photos instead.
đž at the ceremony - well you have a posse, so why not one for your dog? Give them a dedicated attendant for the day to make sure their needs are covered too!
đž for this try & find someone good with dogs who isn't already playing a major role in the wedding so can give them lots of attention. It's a really good idea to consider hiring a professional like Guest of Honour Chaperones or Wedding Paws who are used to the demands of fur babies at ceremonies!
đž make sure everyone's feeling comfortable on the day so let your suppliers know that your fur baby will be around. As your celebrant, I can also give the guests a heads up, so if anyone is a bit nervy they can be aware.
đž last but not least, just go with the flow! Be prepared that the unexpected will most likely happen & these are the moments that will make you giggle & etch the day in everyone's hearts xx
